As a not for profit, membership based organisation, North of England Excellence is dedicated to helping its member organisations in their pursuit of excellence through a wide range of benefits including free advice on any business improvement topic, seminars, networking, workshops, conferences and best practice exchange.

Since 1995 North of England Excellence has been the name behind the prestigious North of England Business Excellence Awards, which incorporates the North West and Yorkshire Business Excellence Awards. Run each year these Awards seek to recognise excellent organisations through rigorous assessment against the requirements of the EFQM Excellence Model by a team of experienced Award Assessors. Applications from both Assessors and Applicant Organisations are invited in January and February of each year.

In addition, North of England Excellence offers a wide range of in-house training and consultancy to both member and non-member organisations, with member organisations enjoying significant discounts. North of England Excellence is also a licensed operating and authorising body for the coveted UK Investors in Excellence Standard.

There is also the Marques of Excellence Scheme developed and launched by North of England Excellence. This is a three stepped approach to encourage organisations to implement real improvements and gain accreditation against the varying levels of Excellence.
